CLAiT Plus Level 2

Course Overview

Designed for those wishing to gain a CLAiT Plus qualification - OCR Level 2. Basic understanding of IT and computer skills is necessary.

Aims and Objectives

  • To become equipped with the broad range of transferable skills necessary to meet the demands of the modern workplace.
  • To gain the skills necessary to progress towards training for a Level 3 qualification.
  • An option to take the relevant Microsoft Office specialist (MOS) tests at participating centres.

Target Audiences

Those wishing to gain a CLAiT Plus qualification - OCR Level 2.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge and understanding of IT and computer keyboard skills.

Course Content

To gain the CLAiT Plus certificate, you must achieve the mandatory unit and any 2 optional units.

To gain the CLAiT Plus diploma, you must achieve the mandatory unit and any 4 optional units.

Word Processing (mandatory) – learn introductory and intermediate word processing skills to a good employable standard. This course will enable you to create professional looking documents, produce tables, insert pictures and much more.

Spreadsheets and Graphs (optional) – learn introductory and intermediate spreadsheet skills. This course will enable you to create a spreadsheet, enter text, numbers and formulae, create charts, import and export data, use templates, analysis tools, pivot tables and many other functions.

Databases (optional) – develop database skills from initial design stage to running reports and queries.

Presentations (optional) – gain competency in creating slide presentations. Areas covered include formatting, inserting tables, pictures, sound, hyperlinks, applying transition and timing effects for a slide show.

Electronic Communication (optional) – learn how to share, manage and schedule information electronically. Covers the use of email, electronic calendar, scheduling meetings and appointments, creating and assigning tasks, creating address lists.

Publication Design (optional) – learn desktop publishing skills using the Microsoft program. Create various publications, inserting text, pictures, frames and tables.
